Our Classroom Website

Welcome!

To Mr. Satterly's third grade class.  I look forward to working with and getting to know the students and their families throughout the school year.  This year we will be learning about Math, Science, Language Arts, History, and Social Studies.  Additionally, students will have an opportunity to have Music and P.E. on Tuesday's and Thrusday's throughout the year.

Lessons will be graded based upon what they have learned.  if a student needs additional help on a certain subject, I am more than happy to set up a time to have a one on one session to help them.

Behavior Expectations

All students, and myself, will exhibit positive behaviors.  All students, and myself, will respect eachother and eachother's property.  If a student exhibits behavior that is not appropriate, this will be dealt with accordingly.

Rules and Procedures

My number one rule is to do what is right at all times.

Always raise your hand to talk or ask questions or if you need to leave the room.

When we line up, we will line up in alphabetical order by our last names.

There will be no running the classroom or the hallways.

Students will help to establish more classroom rules at the beginning of the year.  Rules can be added or deleted throughout the year.

Rewards and Consequences

Rules are made to keep us safe.  If a student is found to be breaking a rule there will be consequences.

The first offense, the student will be asked to write a paragraph as to why this rule is in place.

The second offense, the student will receive a written warning that will be placed in their file and held in from one recess.

The third time, in addition to a written warning, the student will get sent to the administation office and the parents notified.

The fourth offense, in addition to a writting warning, the students parents will be contacted to have a face to face meeting to see how we can help the student.

There will also be rewards for the students.  The rewards will be based on how well the students have improved on their standardized tests.  If the student has improved, they will get to have an additional 15 minutes of recess.  if the whole class improves, we will have a day of celebration in which we will have goodies and drinks at the end of a school day.

Communication with Families

I will communicate with students parents or guardians on a regular basis.  I will contact them at the beginning of the year and at the end of each quarter.  I will also contact the families if needed for behavioral issues, school work, or to just to brag about your child.  Also, if you would like to set up a meeting please contact me.  My contact information is under the contact information tab.

Thank You!

To everybody.  I look forward to having a great school year.  I will update this webpage throughout the year to put important dates that your student needs to remember.  Again if you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you!

Doug Satterly
